Want a budget, turn-key 300 yard+ rifle? Savage Axis II XP in the caliber of your choice (I have one in .223, but may switch to .308). $360 includes a Weaver Kaspa 3-9x40mm scope and the adjustable AccuTrigger. Mine was sighted in for 1 MOA at 200 yards out of the box. Phenomenal rifle for the price point. One note: The synthetic stock is fine for .223. But in .308, the synthetic stock is likely to flex and compromise accuracy (hey, they had to cut corners somewhere to hit this price point). So add in another $100 for the hardwood stock option. Love mine.
